We are looking for our next TEAM member! This position is for an MRO Buyer within our Supply Chain Department and is located on-site at our Morristown, Tennessee location.

Position Summary

The MRO Buyer is responsible for ensuring the cost-effective manufacturing of Team Technologies products by utilizing & enhancing tool crib resources/systems, vendor selection & pricing, and indirect inventory stocking levels. This position will have direct responsibility for financial performance as it relates to maintenance & repair spend categories, machine uptime due to spare part availability, & overall tool crib inventory accuracy & levels. This position will have no direct report responsibilities.

More specific duties are listed below:

  • Preparation and issuance of purchase requisitions and purchase orders for products to ensure manufacturing equipment is available when needed.
  • Build productive internal and external working relationships by establishing and managing vendors and analyzing for strategic purchasing.
  • Manages the purchasing of indirect materials associated with maintenance, repair, and operations, such as pneumatic cylinders, sensors, bearings, filtration, sub-assemblies, supplies, equipment, and services at the most favorable cost and at terms consistent with providing superior service to internal customers.
  • Responsible for the ordering and receipt of materials requested by Production and Engineering teams for manufacturing production & new product/machine launch.
  • Responsible for daily communication with the receiving team and confirmation of materials arriving.
  • Work with Manufacturing Management and Production Engineering to establish specifications and match procurement needs to ensure production continuity.
  • Identify and select vendors to procure materials and/or equipment to meet criteria of price, quality, quantity, availability, and delivery dates.
  • Provide suggestions to improve supply chain, solve shortage issues, and strengthen supplier relationships.
  • Analyze departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy. Resolve issues on occurrence.
  • Monitor and maintain records regarding pricing and ordering of materials.
  • Maintain regulatory standards as it relates to Manager+ system & all other MRO processes.
  • Control MOQ (minimum order quantity), freight and handling costs to control MRO spend categories & inventory levels.
  • Prepare reports analysis and recommendations to management team for safety, quality, cost, & delivery improvements.
  • Assist other supply chain groups with process improvement activities as needed based on company goals & initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of equivalent work experience in purchasing role.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn & improve company specific software (Microsoft Dynamics AX & Manager+).
  • Technical knowledge related to engineering, HVAC, equipment, or machine maintenance.
  • Data analytics & reporting experience.
  • Operate as a collaborative team member and work with other functional departments.
  • Ability to multi-task & manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education / Experience Required:

  • BA/BS is preferred. An associate degree and/or a commensurate mix of education & experience will be considered.
