Producing brushes for today’s healthcare and oral care (specifically dental care) industries requires a unique set of capabilities and technologies to achieve the desired result. Some brushes are made with a single tuft of bristles and others with hundreds of tufts. Regardless, we focus on producing consistent and high-quality products with finished profile/contour features, such as end-rounding, double taper filaments, and the ability to produce products using very fine millimeter filaments.
- IMT (In Mold Tufting): this method incorporates mechanically processed pointed bristles that are fed to a receptacle recess of a tool in bundles, and aligned by means of a pin guided in the receptacle recess. The pointed bristles are pushed through the passage of the bristle carrier plate, and the end sections are subsequently melted by means of a heating die in order to attach the pointed bristles to the bristle carrier plate.
- AFT (Anchor-Free Tufting): this process allows for the manufacture of bristle tips with end-rounding quality and different filament lengths. Once the pattern of the brush has been selected, the bristles are pushed into the product in a single step, by means of a set of pre-shaped pins.
- PT (Pressure Tufting): an anchorless technology that uses pre-cut filament “pucks” that are pre-rounded and inserted and fused together before being placed into the holes of the brush head, where heat and pressure (PT) are applied. When the brush head cools the brush is finished.
