More specifics about the role’s requirements:

TEAM is seeking a Accounting Specialist A/P to work with our group in Morristown, TN. This position will be on-site at our Morristown, Tennessee facilities.

Under supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Specialist A/P is responsible for handling accounts payable for multiple entities and vendors. This includes processing invoices, processing payments, managing processes, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions while adhering to departmental and company procedures.

Specific Duties:

  • Handling high volume accounts payable using accounting software and other programs.
  • Receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices and vendor statements.
  • Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.
  • Managing accounts payable workflows for separate entities.
  • Prepares and processes electronic transfers and payments, prepares and performs check runs and reconciles accounts payable transactions. Communicates with different divisions and/or companies to ensure all payables are paid in a timely manner.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
  • Establishes procedures and guidelines to ensure the risk of fraud and theft are mitigated.
  • Ensures effective internal controls over accounts payable functions.
  • Responds to internal and external requests for information and assistance.
  • Ensures compliance with IRS 1099 requirements.
  • Performs various general accounting functions such as journal entries, account reconciliations, special reports, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of standard accounts payable procedures, including Vendor Masterfile maintenance.
  • Knowledge of highly automated ERP systems including AP automation and Treasury Management software with leading financial institutions.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills for monitoring accounting payable.
  • General knowledge of accounting guidelines and procedures and generally accepted accounting practices.
  • Computer literate with ability to utilize word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Good communication skills – verbal and written.

Education / Experience Required:

  • Associate degree in business or related field.
  • Five years of related accounts payable experience, including lead or supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
