More specifics about the role’s requirements:
TEAM is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work with our group in Morristown, TN. This position will be on-site at our Morristown, Tennessee facilities on 2nd shift or 3rd shift.
Ensures the assigned manufacturing process/ equipment runs in the most cost-effective manner to ensure the manufacture of Team Technologies products that meet customer quality expectations by ensuring machines run consistently, efficiently, and effectively. This position must have an open approach to troubleshooting and become the subject matter expert in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment in his or her area.
Specific Duties:
- Plans and performs work requiring a working knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of powered equipment.
- Monitor process performance metrics (OEE, Defect Rates, Process RFT, Cp, and Cpk) to identify potential unfavorable machine performance trends that lead to opportunities for improvement.
- Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains production equipment in his or her area.
- Tracks and monitors equipment for performance to expected output standards and effectuates repairs as required.
- Responds in a timely manner to effectuate repairs for down equipment/ machines.
- Escalates issues that cannot be resolved to Lead Technician/ Area Manager/ Research & Development Manager as required by calling for repairs to down or poorly performing equipment.
- Evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Conducts preventive maintenance as defined in program requirements for his/ her area.
- Ensures all safety measures are in place for his or her equipment/ area.
- Listens openly to supervisors’ and/ or operators’ feedback on machine performance to understand the issue(s) and priorities.
- Have a product quality mindset.
- Assists Quality in trouble shooting/ root cause analysis for products and processes.
- Assists Quality and R&D during development trials and qualifications.
- Confers with other Maintenance Technicians to seek technical advice and compare notes between shifts and plants.
- Actively participates in continuous improvement activities; adheres to 5S and implements improvements as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- 3+ years of previous experience in maintenance support of a production facility with the following skills:
- Specific experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems and components is required.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic solenoids and cylinders and the techniques to troubleshoot.
- Able to identify faults on variable frequency drives (VFD) and motion control.
- HMI troubleshooting and the ability to make basic changes.
- Solid understanding of 3-Phase power and the ability to properly use a digital multimeter.
- Experience with Ink Jet Printers and laser marking is highly desired.
- ISO9001 – comfortable working effectively within quality systems and audits.
- Experience in GMP regulated environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Working knowledge of machine shop equipment and capabilities.
- Computer literate with a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel.
- Adequate written and verbal communication skills.
- Good communication skills are a must.
Education / Experience Required:
- Technical Education Certificate (mechanical or electrical), or Associates degree are highly preferred, but commensurate mix of education and experience will be considered.
- 3 + years’ in a high-volume manufacturing environment in a maintenance role.
