More specifics about the role’s requirements:

TEAM is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work with our group in Morristown, TN. This position will be on-site at our Morristown, Tennessee facilities.

The primary accountabilities of the Manufacturing Engineer include developing and sustaining manufacturing processes to meet or exceed the technical & operational requirements of our plant while achieving safety, quality, efficiency, and cost objectives.

They own the implementation of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement/ digitalization projects including, but not limited to: layout, workflow, process flow, process monitoring/control methods, material handling, documentation, training, support, and equipment service/maintenance.

This position also characterizes, verifies, and validates the compliance to various regulatory requirements in EHS, GMP/Quality, IQOQPQ, and Lean Factory Performance & Reliability (FP&R) Standards.

Specific Duties:

  • Promote a work environment of continuous improvement that supports the company’s Quality policy and system, GMP rules, and relevant local/ state/ federal regulations.
  • Autonomously identify significant cost improvement opportunities, organize project and team, lead team, and executes a solution.
  • Sets strategic direction in coordination with the manufacturing excellence manager.
  • Evaluate processes/products for cost position, quality, and capability; implement tooling, fixture, sequence, and training improvements to ensure operational goals are met.
  • Develop, document, and implement, training program/ materials, SOP’s, etc, to build the sufficient skill sets in manufacturing required to produce quality products at expected rates.
  • Work with plant engineering and manufacturing personnel to identify and implement equipment additions/ modifications that improve efficiency, improve safety, and reduce scrap.
  • Work with quality personnel to investigate and solve quality defects and resolve customer complaints.
  • Work with supply chain and product management personnel in evaluating opportunities to reduce costs and/ or improve quality.
  • Lead cross functional project teams to improve manufacturing processes, products, and equipment through continuous improvement activities as directed.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to determine production and scrap rates for new and existing products and supply information to accounting/ finance functions as required to keep standard costs current.
  • Develop and maintain key supplier relationships to ensure the use of appropriate materials/ technologies, reliability, and cost competitiveness in the following areas:
    • Materials & components used in equipment/ tooling development and repair.
    • Machining & fabricating new and replacement parts/ tooling.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of validation IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, ISO quality systems and GMP requirements will be considered a plus.
  • Comfortable presenting information and data to senior management as well as customers and suppliers.
  • Organizational skills are critical to this position.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • AUTOCAD/Solidworks knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in Project Management, VSM and Lean Manufacturing techniques.

Education / Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing engineering function/technical manufacturing role.
  • Automation, robotics, and controls knowledge and experience a plus.
