More specifics about the role’s requirements:

TEAM is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to work with our group in Morristown, TN. This position will be on-site at our Morristown, Tennessee facilities.

Under supervision of the Global Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant provides high-level support for various accounting functions and financial activity. Responsibilities include preparing reports for company management and developing standards and processes for proper financial management. Assists with management of accounting, budgeting, interim and annual audits and implementation and monitoring of internal controls.

Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for all general ledger processing, accurate financial transaction posting and financial report and statement preparation.Communicates with all different divisions and/or companies to ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
  • Responsible for preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Responsible for all Balance Sheet account reconciliations with all different divisions and/or companies.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintains direct involvement and fully cross trained for companywide cost accounting functions.
  • Involvement in the annual budgeting process including the preparation and analysis of location specific income statement and development of corporate departmental expense statements.
  • Involvement in the quarterly P&L forecasting process (as needed).
  • Coordinates and monitors appropriation ledger and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for audit support.
  • Oversees the sales and use tax reporting process.
  • Assists with ERP system design and setup for finance.
  • Create reporting from ERP system through management reporter as needed.
  • Various other FP&A duties as assigned regarding potential synergy opportunities, automation opportunities for cost savings, and possible M&A opportunities for evaluation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting theory, concepts, and practices applicable to accounting requirements of manufacturing companies
  • Strong knowledge of accounting guidelines and procedures and generally accepted accounting practices.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills for monitoring accounting records and resolving accounting problems.
  • Ability to establish work priorities and, when needed, train staff in proper accounting procedures.
  • Advanced computer skills with ability to utilize word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Current with all applicable US GAAP and related revisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance.
  • CPA or CMA certification is beneficial.
  • Public accounting experience or general ledger management, financial statement preparation and audit responsibility.
