More specifics about the role’s requirements:

The Master Scheduler II leads the scheduling/planning processes of assigned production lines & customer segments to meet customer delivery requirements & maximize operational efficiency. The Master Scheduler will act as the main liaison linking the commercial, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure full adherence to the established schedule. This role will have direct responsibility to improve company financial & delivery performance through scheduling efficiency, inventory turn (ROI) improvement, & inventory accuracy improvement. The Master Scheduler will have direct report responsibility with the inventory control team for selected product/customer segments within TEAM.

Specific Duties:

  • Lead monthly customer S&OP meetings based on plant capacity & demand planning.
  • Track monthly forecasting variance by selected customer to drive improvements in planning processes & ensure proper allocation in MRP planning.
  • Manage Supply Chain schedule for new product launch & phase out control for selected customer/product groups.
  • Build long-term machine/labor capacity models & short-term fixed production plans to support total customer demand & on-time delivery targets.
  • Maintain & improve ratio of inventory (ROI) targets across WIP & FG production items. Build & integrate inventory strategies across the business.
  • Develop & maintain production scheduling tools (ERP & other tools) to ensure proper data validity as it relates to production & inventory (including BOM/routing management).
  • Consult with production, customer service, and purchasing team on regular basis to drive improvements in production planning process.
  • Create & maintain scheduling system in ERP on a regular basis.
  • Check schedule against the status of required materials, tools, artwork, and equipment to ensure the job can run as scheduled.
  • Communicate regularly with customer service and supervisors regarding new jobs that may require realigning the schedule to meet customer needs.
  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Apply lean philosophy through Kaizen event participation, improvement activities, and lean initiatives to support corporate objectives.
  • Ensure 5S standards are followed through sustainment activities.
  • Lead value stream mapping efforts for defined production areas to identify inventory/process stagnation, standard store targets, & overall lead time improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Proven experience in production planning/demand planning/capacity planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Process flow mapping capability & knowledge.
  • Good computer skills utilizing MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher, & scheduling inside ERP systems (Dynamics AX, Oracle, SAP).
  • The ability to learn company specialized software programs.
  • Solid verbal and written communications skills with strong ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Significant product/process knowledge.
  • Proven organizational skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure and adjust well to change.
  • Able to positively influence others and work well with various levels of employees.
  • Strong analytic sills & ability to review large sets of data for streamlined decision making.

Education / Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree minimum (Supply Chain Preferred) for position or 5+ years production planning/scheduling experience.
