We are looking for our next TEAM member! This position is located on-site at our Morristown, Tennessee location.

Position Summary

Within our Finance department, our Senior Manufacturing Cost Accountant will collect and analyze financial information, perform various accounting functions, and direct the company’s reporting system activities such as cost accounting, inventory management, accurate financial transaction posting, and period accounting. The position will oversee inventory and cost accuracy for multiple divisions under the supervision of the Global Controller.

More specific duties of the role are listed below:

  • Responsible for the standard cost system.
  • Responsible for all Bill of Material (BOM) updates and standard cost rolls.
  • Responsible for all inventory and production reporting, including physical inventories.
  • Review inventory item requests, manufacturing variances, scrap and cycle counts weekly.
  • Responsible for weekly, monthly, and annual management reporting requirements.
  • Provide analytical for support for cost savings projects and commercial pricing decisions.
  • Assist with planning, forecasting, and budget preparation on material costs, direct labor, freight, other productions, and plant costs. Also includes the establishment of manufacturing overhead standards.
  • Performs various general accounting functions such as journal entries, account reconciliations, special reports, etc.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the fixed asset accounting system.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Global Controller and/or CFO.

Requirements and skills

  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
  • General knowledge of accounting guidelines and procedures and generally accepted accounting practices.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills for monitoring accounting records and resolving accounting problems.
  • Good supervisory skills for directing and coordinating cost accounting activities.
  • Ability to establish work priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent and relevant experience.
  • At least five (5) years of related experience required.
  • MRP experience including the maintenance of a standard cost system.
